Optional Activities

In order to make your birdwatching-tour truly memorable we can offer you a range of optional activities at a small additional cost. From the list below simply select the activities that intrest you and add to your tour.

• Riding: lunging or horse trekking in the local riding center

• Horse drawn carriages: birdwatching whilst travelling in a horse drawn carriage

• Canoeing: take a canoe trip on The River Hortobágy-Berettyó with binoculars and camera

• Cultural festivals: visit one of the regional cultural festivals and enjoy a day experiencing Hungarian entertainment (10-11.May:Shepherd festival-Túrkeve)

• Visiting local museums: visiting one of the three most inportant regional museums: Túrkeve - Korda Sándor museum, Karcag - Györffy museum, Dévaványa - Túzok (great bustard) museum

• Bathing: visit the Spa and Adventurebath in Túrkeve

• Arboretum in Szarvas: birdwatching at probably the most beautiful Hungarian plant collection in Szarvas

• Fishing: if you are keen on fishing, you can try your luck fishing in the local rivers and lakes

• Nature Photography: visiting a few birdphotographing hides

• Birdwatching race: on the 1st weekend of September compare your knowledge with the best Hungarian twitchers in the Hortobágy
