During this workshop we guide you around Túrkeve, where a few Red-footed falcon colonies are located. In these breading areas the falcons are very activ: display, mat, keep their eyes on the nests, fight, fly, so we have many good opportunities to take good photos.

Day 1. - Arrival

We meet at the Budapest Airport, and after a two hour drive we will arrive to Túrkeve, where your accommodation the Kevirigo guesthouse is located. After you have settled in, we will go for lunch or dinner depending on the time to a local restaurant. If we have time, we will have a walk around the town with our cameras and binoculars.

Day 2.

After a relaxing night we will start our photo tour in the garden hide located at the guest house.

We will mainly see Finches here, however the Syrian Woodpecker and the Green Woodpecker are also regular guest at the drinking pond.

The first frogs and Grass snakes (commonly known as the water snake in Hungary) can be spotted by the lake and sometimes hedgehogs and hares come here to drink.

After our afternoon siesta we are going to explore the surrounding territories. During our walk we will take pictures of the Little Bittern, the Great Reed Warbler, the Cuckoo and the Penduline Tit. With a bit of luck we can observe the first returning Red-backed Shrikes. Above the reed we can often see Marsh Harriers too.

Day 3.

At dawn we are going to visit one of the Red-footed Falcon sites next to Túrkeve , where we can take picture of the birds basking in the first rays of the morning sun. After this we will walk around the neighbouring puszta in sear for great photo topics. You can see on the way Lesser Grey Shrikes, Sakers, Barn Owls, Great Bustards and Kestrels.

After our mid-day siesta we are going to take pictures from our Hawfich hide, where Syrian Woodpeckers, Nightingales, Flycatcher can appear from the Finches. The Golden Orioles are returning from their wintering territories around this time and are regular guest at our drinking pond. After the hide photography we will have the opportunity to take pictures of the Wryneck useing the soft light from the sunset.

Day 4.

At dawn we are going to visit one of the Red-footed Falcon sites next to Túrkeve , where we can take picture of the birds basking in the first rays of the morning sun. After this we will walk around the neighbouring puszta in sear for great photo topics. You can see on the way Lesser Grey Shrikes, Sakers, Barn Owls, Great Bustards and Kestrels.

After our mid -day siesta we are going to visit one of the most beautiful fishing ponds of the neighbourhood, where we can picture Pygmy Cormorants and different kind of Herons. During the afternoon we are going to see Ferruginous duck, Marsh Harriers, Bearded Tits and Pond terrapins as well.

Day 5.

At dawn we are going to visit one of the Red-footed Falcon sites next to Túrkeve , where we can take picture of the birds basking in the first rays of the morning sun. After this we will walk around the neighbouring puszta in sear for great photo topics. You can see on the way Lesser Grey Shrikes, Sakers, Barn Owls, Great Bustards and Kestrels.

After our mid -day siesta we are going to visit the Great Bustard Reserve in Dévaványa. On the way we can see Rollers, Great Bustards, and Imperial Eagle. In the exhibition centre we will take an insight into the Hungarian Great Bustard preservation. This place is perfect for the observation of the Great Bustard, the Wryneck, the Montagu's Harrier, and the Hoopoe.

Day 6.

At dawn we are going to visit one of the Red-footed Falcon sites next to Túrkeve , where we can take picture of the birds basking in the first rays of the morning sun. After this we will walk around the neighbouring puszta in sear for great photo topics. You can see on the way Lesser Grey Shrikes, Sakers, Barn Owls, Great Bustards and Kestrels.

After a short mid -day siesta we are going to visit Hungary's second biggest lake the Lake Tisza, where during a boat trip we can take pictures of the following birds: Night Heron, Great Crested Grebe, Whiskered Tern, Penduline Tit, Black Tern and Grey Heron.

Day 7.

During the morning from our mobil hides we are going to take pictures of the Bee-eaters. These colourfull birds are returning from their wintering countries around this time. After this we will have the opportunity to take pictures of the Great White Egret and the Little Bittern.

After our mid-day siesta we are going to visit the neighbouring rice fields, where we will see Bluethroats, Sedge Warblers and Savi's Warblers.

Day 8. – Departure home

If we have enough time on our way to the airport we will stop in some places to take pictures of the Crested Lark or Bee-eaters.
